Loopla is a London-based startup and family events marketplace where parents can discover and book activities for their children. We connect families with organisers of all sizes, from local clubs to major venues, while providing simple tools to manage listings and reach new audiences. About the Role
We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer with several years of experience in JavaScript and modern frameworks to join a small engineering team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow in a supportive, collaborative startup environment. The role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Euston office and two days remote.
Responsibilities
- Plan features thoroughly to ensure a solid foundation before coding
- Write clean, maintainable code that follows best practices and standards
- Deliver to deadlines, finding fast, effective solutions without compromising quality
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members
- Contribute ideas and collaborate to find creative, practical solutions
Experience & Skills
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 4+ years’ professional full stack development
- 2+ years’ production experience with Node.js
- 2+ years’ production experience with React
- Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript (ES modules)
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs
- 2+ years’ experience with MySQL and Git
- 1+ year with Tailwind CSS, Next.js, Express.js, MongoDB, and AWS/GCP
- High level of English language proficiency
Bonus if you’ve worked with:
- Testing (Vitest/Jest)
- Docker
- CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions)
- Component libraries (e.g. Shadcn, MUI)
- Microservices
- Cloudflare or other CDNs
- Firebase
- Google Maps API
