The Opportunity

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for Front-End Software Engineers to join our engineering teams. Front-End engineers build and own user-focused interfaces, work closely with Product and Design teams, and collaborate with other functional teams across the Engineering organization.

As a Front-End Software Engineer at Grammarly, you will:


  1. Ship production-grade code to over 30 million daily active users.
  2. Grow and maintain the team’s technical excellence by focusing on best practices for the team and product.
  3. Contribute to the technical culture of the company.
  4. Harness engagement metrics to identify and build new impactful features.
  5. Work on fun and technically challenging projects to deliver impactful apps on popular browsers.
  6. Use React and TypeScript while building super refined and elegant user interfaces.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams such as Core, Growth, Enterprise, Trust, and Data to deliver delightful product offerings to our customers.
  8. Make a meaningful impact on the lives of writers everywhere!
  9. Qualifications
  10. Brings at least 8 years of experience in front-end development.
  11. Has solid software engineering fundamentals, including knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
  12. Has solid knowledge of JavaScript (and/or TypeScript), HTML, and CSS.
  13. Has experience with ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar UI frameworks.
  14. Is ready to tackle infrastructure challenges when needed.
  15. Knows modern web client development and testing tools.
  16. Has a good understanding and practical knowledge of continuous integration and delivery methods.

Bonus points for:


Functional programming experience.

Previous experience running experiments or A/B tests to test product hypotheses.
